Summer at last and we launch ourselves into the party season with a daylight saving start of 6.30 p.m. Feedback from past years shows guys have time to get home from the beach, shower and get to the party on time. The later start also seems right as the light is perfect, with pantsdown time happening just as the twilight is fading.

December is always full of fun, crowded with events. It is impossible not to clash with something. MEN falls on the same day as the WOOF party so we will re-open the doors briefly to let guys in after WOOF finishes.. We thank Colin and Gary for inviting us to use their home for the party.

Byron Bay (Suffolk Park)

We have again been able to do the New Year’s Day party in Byron, which has become a tradition over the years and last time attracted 82 Kings Beach gods. It is a smaller, relaxed party as the sun sets and the effects of the night before at Tropical Fruits in Lismore swirl though the head space. We have a wonderful private venue with swimming pool right in Suffolk Park. Those who have been before will know how special it is. Those who haven’t yet been and who are tempted to head north can only be warned that the few days over New Year are magic. So spread the word and let hot men going to Byron know that MEN will be happening.

You may have met him on the front desk or met him later during the party. We would like to thank David for all the work he does with his partner Jim in organising the MEN parties. Without them the parties would not flow as easily as they do. Thanks also for your pics mate.

Looking ahead to RezErection 9

We have negotiated with ARQ and have secured the venue for the Thursday before Mardi Gras, 28 February. So RezErection 9 will happen. The advantages of a Thursday party are obvious. There are plenty of recoveries for Mardi Gras but very few opportunities to warm up. The internationals are all in place and are looking for fun. It will remain an invitation only private party as this is the secret of its success. The key ingredient is that all you guys bring along the overseas and interstate guests and every year we have sold to our limit. There have been a few imitations over the years but none, we dare say, has been able to capture that essential feel of a party full of friends.

Now the Kirk for Mardi Gras recovery has not yet been secured and may be under renovation during February. So any suggestion for another venue has got to come from you guys or it will not happen. We are not panicking yet but we are getting real close so please …. Can we get some help for this one, just in case the Kirk is unavailable?

Sleaze Ball Recovery

Just over two hundred guys came to the Kirk after the long winter break. We need to thank Chris Smyth for his invitation cards and to Jozef for the art work. Both are accomplished professionals yet volunteer their skills and time freely. Others guys who helped out in a variety of roles were David H, Paul W, Jim and David P, Chi-Kan and Matthew, Kenny and Joseph, Kell, Alex, Andrew B and Warren, Phillip and Jeff, Raymond, Reymon and Shawn as well as others who stayed back to clean up.

Let’s all have the best time over the holiday period and look forward to a great New Year.
