Toybox and Bus shuttle – You can do both!

As we have done once before for big parties and responding to all the emails from those going to Toybox we will re-open the door at 8.30 pm for a hour to cater for you. To get you from Luna Park there will be buses from Toybox returning as far as Oxford St then you can continue on under your own steam to Cleveland St to join the MEN Party. We are negotiating our own bus and if it happens we will notify you by email. Many of us are also going to Queer Nation so the timing should be perfect for everybody during this weekend of excess.

For Mardi Gras we usually feature the growing ranks of overseas MEN and this time we have two Dereks.

The first is flying in from SFO and graces our invitation card. Now March 6th is his birthday and he expects guys to say yes especially enthusiastically to celebrate his day!

The other, coincidentally, is also called Derek! He is on the newsletter. Flying in from London he is muscled, top and horny so we need to give him a special welcome as well. Thanks for the pics fellas!

XXXmas Christmas Party

Thank you David N for saving the day and offering your renovator’s delight. The floor went in the day before the party so thanks to the carpenter who gave you something to stand on! As deadline grew closer, the plumber was told to fix the toilet and forget about the shower. Well he did the opposite but resilience pulled through as Malcolm did his own plumbing and fixed the toilet himself albeit with a bucket flush. Not that we needed to worry as Peter, Chris and later Paul jumped into the bath and gave us someone to piss on, so the toilet was hardly used at all! Will K designed the invitation, Brian, Mikey and Warren, Raymond, Phillip did the mail out. Andy Q thanks for being the security at the front door, and David M for the bag check, also Allan, Daniel and Joel. Our acquisition of the cash register last year has made the money collection more efficient and secure. Laurence, you looked great in your jocks behind the bar. The guys who work the front desk get you in, get you tagged and bagged really quickly nowadays and deserve special recognition as does Malcolm our logistics manager. Whether he is behind the bar, on the roof securing the tarp to keep the prying eyes of neighbour away or doing the stock take, he is the power house behind MEN.

The clean up took just over 30 minutes due to Bill, Brian (who also did the set up as well, so special thanks to you) Nigel, Paul D, Graham P and Charlie. Phillip took the towels to the laundry and then joined Malcolm, Brett, and Kris G to take the gear back to the lock-up in Camperdown.

Byron Bay 2005 New Year’s Day

Again Byron was magic. As the passengers disembarked the Friday evening REX flight in Lismore and strutted across the tarmac, it was noticed that the whole planeload was male!! And not just that they all looked as if they had just come from Gold’s Gym! With over 80 guys on Jan 1st the Byron MEN parties are the size of the early Sydney parties. We also had our first MEN-Recovery-Recovery with a few guys coming back the following night on Jan 2 for more! Thanks to Kell, Mikey, Greg, Warren, Kris, Brett and Malcolm, Phillip, Colin and Gary, Steve and Jason, for the shopping and carting the gear up the coast. And for the first time we have advance bookings for next year!

Naked Berlin - Beatty Gallery 214 Liverpool St, East Sydney Feb 15-26

As part of Mardi Gras Henning von Berg (who created the German PPP – Pink Pig Parties – the equivalent of MEN and is a regular contributor to our own Blue magazine here in Oz) is showing his celebrated Naked Berlin photo series of hot group shots of naked men taken throughout Berlin. He’d like our hot men to drop by and check it out.

Henning has also invited all MEN guys to the Australian launch and signing of his recent photo book Universal at the Flinders Hotel from 6pm on Thursday 24 Feb. Be there or remain sober!

Data Base Manager and Emails

Thank you for the helpful response to our requests for help with the data base management. Mikey K, whom many of you regularly meet at the front desk, has agreed to take over the database and emails so that Rod can concentrate his efforts on the web site.

With so much on over Mardi Gras weekend (Gay New Year in Sydney) we want to wish all our guys a fun but safe weekend. Look after each other where ever you may be partying.
