Inquisition
Recovery at the Kirk
The
party ended with our sympathies for a panicking party man having
to go through ALL the garbage bins to find his house keys which
he felt he had left in the bottom of his plastic bag! Please
ensure you take everything with you. (Remember the adage: “spectacles,
testicles, wallet and watch!”). This was after Bill, Kell,
John C, Mikey, Warren, Raymond and Phillip and many others had
cleaned up. Earlier someone leaving the Kirk had left the front
door ajar … wide enough for two teenagers to wander in
and ask “what is going on??!!” (private party mate!), “but
I saw naked men in there!” (private party mate!), “is
this a SEX party?!?!?” (private party mate!). Close the
door next time!!! David M, William D and Raymond looked after
bags. Kell, Ivano and Warren bagged and tagged and welcomed newcomers
explaining da rools. Brad F, Luther and Phillip manned the front
desk with Blair as doorman. Rod did the web page and sent out
the emails cos Chris Smyth’s invitation image had provided
a suitable starting point for what was an outrageously successful
end to the Inquisition season aided by Andy R’s dark and
dirty music. Kip, Sebastian and Brett did the bar. Thank you
Malcolm for the set up, cleaning and lock up transfer. Mikey,
Raymond, Luther, David and Mark, Chris, Theiss, and Warren stuffed
the envelopes. Malcolm had constructed again the huge scaffolding
which held the sling and Brad F, climbing atop of it gave the
introduction speech perched on high just to be sure everyone
could hear him. In welcoming regulars and visitors, he reiterated
the safe sex philosophy of MEN parties.
Some
may tire of the mantra but that’s what mantras are,
something that gets said over and over and over again. It
is around Inquisition time that we recall the original group
of guys who started the whole MEN concept. We are not a group
who trumpets the anniversaries, although the 10th last year
was
indeed
a milestone. The story of the beginning of MEN is on the web
site and is probably the most asked question new comers pose
during
cocktail time.
It
is neither the number of men at parties nor the length of time
that the group continues that marks success but the intangible
moments, the sexual peaks when Eros taps you on the shoulder.
It
is an atmosphere of fantasy, the quality of the men, their
friendship, the fun. The bottom line of success is that guys
leave parties
as healthy as they came in. Condoms and water based lube
are
the best prevention for HIV. Add personal hygiene and we
avoid other
infections.
The
mantra of gotta get naked, no attitude (defined as say yes enthusiastically,
say no politely) and safe sex always
is the
essence of what we do, of the original vision of a network
of hot yet warm
friends who look after themselves and who look each other.
